Promethean Particles Ltd.. (10/16/20). "Press Release: Promethean Particles Appoints New CEO to Lead Accelerated Commercialisation".

Promethean Particles, a leading global provider of high specification nanoparticles, has announced the appointment of James Stephenson as its new Chief Executive Officer.

With an extensive background in chemical manufacturing and processing, Stephenson’s career spans both sides of the Atlantic working for Dow Corning for more than 16 years. After working in the UK, he moved to their Michigan, USA, headquarters in 2006, where he became Global Product Manager for its Electronics and Advanced Materials Business.

While in the States, Stephenson led an internal start-up for the development of silicon nanoparticle-based inks for printed electronics. His career advanced to senior business development, strategic marketing and business management roles in plastics, composites, and coatings equipment. Most recently Stephenson held the positions of Vice President, Global Business Development for Carlisle Fluid Technologies and before that, General Manager and Managing Director for a 250-person division of Polyone Corporation (now Avient).

Stephenson holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and an MEng in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Swansea.

After deciding to move his family and career back to the UK, he joins Promethean Particles at a pivotal point, as the company accelerates its commercialisation efforts.

Chairman, Alan Lamb, said: “James is the right person to lead Promethean to be a highly successful company. He will bring a disciplined approach to the development and prioritisation of existing opportunities, the formation of a strategic plan to address our core markets, and leading the Promethean team in the execution of that plan.”

Promethean Particles has recently won new feasibility studies related to CO2adsorption as well as antimicrobial and water repellent coating additives, with several global corporations interested in its unique large scale, continuous-flow nanoparticle manufacturing capabilities. The company collaborates with customers to first develop and then supply both standard and bespoke nanoparticle solutions to address their specific application requirements and challenges.

Stephenson commented: “It is a great pleasure to join the Promethean team at this critical growth phase of our journey. Our innovative technology and team’s capabilities present exciting opportunities for us to help solve our customers’ most pressing problems. Many are seeking to deliver new, high performance, multi-functional materials for applications that positively respond to critical global trends and concerns, such as energy efficiency and health and hygiene.

“By collaborating with our customers throughout the nanoparticle development process, we are able to develop innovative, tailor-made material solutions that deliver strong value-added benefits in relation to functionality and performance.”
